Well it is that time of year again it seems like things are shaping up for a wonderful spring. We have been doing a major refit to the boat this winter with a new coat of Ice Blue paint to the hull along with a new mezzanine in the cockpit with some very nice and comfortable cushions. This is going to give us so much more room while fishing. We should be back in the water and ready to go by mid April. As far as the fishing goes I think it will be a very good spring. Wahoo and Mahi I are being caught now along with some Black in Tuna and even a few Yellowfins have been caught also. Give me a call to book a spring gulfstream trip. I will try to get a few pics posted this week.

Well with all this wind it seems I have done more hunting thank fishing lately but my son Hunter did manage to kill a nice 10 point Saturday morning. We did get a break Sunday from the weather and was able to fish but lets just say the fish gods were not very friendly to us because it was a slow day for the Carolina Time. The weather got us again for today so we are going to take advantage of it and go spend Thanksgiving with family. I hope everyone has a safe and good Thanksgiving.

First of all let me say Morehead City has lost a legend. Capt. Johnny Rose passed away Saturday. There was a very nice memorial service held today on the waterfront. Johnny was one of the best Blue Marlin fisherman around. He will be missed, but not forgotten.

Well the fishing is just about as good as it gets here right now. Huge Wahoo along with some Blackfin, Mahi and even a great Sailfish bite.

We are open this Saturday if you want to go with a beautiful forcast.

Help…. We need a break from the wind!

Well it seems we just can’t get a break. I have cancelled my last ten trips due to wind. There is plenty going on inshore though with trout, drum etc. but that’s not helping us any. Going out of town this weekend to PA. To see some good friends but we will be back at it next week if mother nature allows.

We have lost the last few weekends because of the wind. We are supposed to fish this weekend so maybe just maybe we will have a report next week.

October Wahoos!

Well wahoo season is in full swing now in Morehead City. We have had several great days of fall fishing lately with plenty of wahoo, big blackfin tuna and even a sailfish or three just about every trip. It seems we will be spending our winter here in Morehead City so come on down and get in on some of this action. We fished the brown bag wahoo tournament last weekend and barely got bumped out of third place we weighed in a 49 and some change pounder but maybe next year we will get lucky. There are some very nice Bluefish on the beach and the King Mackeral has also moved nearshore also. Maybe mother nature will give us a break this weekend and we can put up another good report.

Well we survived the storm and cleaned up all the mess she left behind. We were very fortunate unlike several others and we are thankful for that and hope everyone that had losses will get back to normal asap. While we had the boat out of the water we got some needed work done on her like botom paint and new wheels and boy do they raise the marlins. We are still in Oregon inlet and the marlins are still chewing with reports coming in with double digits and it is only going to get better. We will be there until the end of September and then be back in Morehead city for the fall whoo bite. Give me a call to set up some great fall wahoo fishing.

Well we have the boat in Pirates Cove at Nags Head now and the Marlin fishinbg has been on fire! We fished the Pirates Cove Billfish tournament last week and we even walked away winning a little bit of money. BUT this week is a different story we have the Carolina Time hauled out at Bayliss Boat works waiting on Hurricane Irene to show us what she has to offer to us here on the Crystal Coast. Maybe just maybe with a little luck we will walk away undamaged but this storm is really packing a punch and right now it seems like we are going to take a direct hit from her as a category 3 storm. If we are lucky we will be fishing next week. Those of you having to deal with Irene please stay safe.
